Deep Dream: A Medical-Ethical Thriller

In spring 2043 in San Francisco, neuronal implants are the lucrative business of the company Biophysical Implants. The implants create an Augmented Reality for surgeons in the operating room. Secretly, the company is developing an XEQ implant that is intended to be inserted into the thalamus - neuroanatomists have identified the thalamus as the gateway to consciousness. It is believed that every XEQ implant wearer will become a top surgeon.

However, Biophysical Implants is keeping a secret that an XEQ implantation in a test subject has already led to devastating results. The fact that this implant wearer has not awakened from a Deep Dream since then has become the research team's best-kept secret.

A young couple, John and Laura, become entangled in the developments at Biophysical Implants. John is faced with the decision to also have an XEQ implant inserted as an employee of the company. John, as a researcher, is eager to explore new territory. However, as the thriller unfolds, the risks of the procedure become more and more apparent. In the conflict that arises, John undergoes an unexpected transformation. From a man who initially blindly pursues his career, he matures into a sensitive observer and partner. Along the way, John rediscovers his love for Laura.
